Welcome to Lightbringer Labradors!
We have owned and bred Labradors for over 8 years and have been showing at Open and Championship show level for about 4 years. We own all 3 colours - Black, Yellow and Chocolate. Lightbringer is our kennel name. after we discovered that the name Lucy meant 'Lightbringer' in Latin and as she was our first Labrador, it seemed a perfect name for our affix.

We are Kennel Club Accredited Breeders and strictly adhere to all their guidelines for good breeding practice. We only breed a litter when we want to keep a dog for ourselves, for the show ring and to continue our line. We aim to breed healthy good tempered Labradors that could do well in the show ring and can also work in the field but most importantly that make great family pets and lifelong companions.
All our Labradors have had basic Gundog training and two of them are working through their Gundog Club Retriever tests - Grade 1-6. They have all passed the Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme - Bronze, Silver and Gold. Two of our Labradors have also qualified as Pets as Therapy dogs.

We breed for soundness, temperament, and type. We only breed from dogs that have excellent conformation and temperament is a priority. Any stud dogs we use are chosen very carefully to compliment our bitches. The Kennel Club require hips and eyes to be tested before breeding from a Labrador but we also score the elbows, Optigen test to avoid the inheritance of PRA (Progressive Retinol Atophy) and we also test for CNM (Centronuclear Myopathy). All our dogs are microchipped.

Our Labradors all live in the house and they can usually be found curled up on our sofa (as the photo on the right shows!) They are deeply loved and are thoroughly spoilt! Although we show our dogs, they are pets first and show dogs second. Our dogs are exercised daily and we are lucky to have freshwater lakes nearby where our Labs can swim and numerous open fields for them to romp in.
We feed our Labradors (and can thoroughly recommend) - Royal Canin, Pro-plan, Arden Grange and Fish 4 Dogs.
